The Finishing Touches

Throughout the semester, we've have numerous projects due for Tech PETE (like this one!). Finally we're getting down to the very end! I'm sure everyone feels the relief of finishing their final projects. The only thing I have to finish up is my digital video and then all my projects are complete! Then, the only thing I have to worry about for this class is the final. So, here's a good luck to everyone that needs to put the finishing touches on their final projects!

2012 PSAHPERD State Convention: All for ONE: That's How We Roll

So, tomorrow is the start of the state convention! Yet another thing that has seemed to creep up so fast. This is my first time attending the convention and I'm not quite sure what to expect. I'll be participating in the Tech for Teachers presentation with Dr. Leight and a couple other of students from the Phys. Ed. department. We don't present until Saturday at 12:30, so hopefully I'll have all my jitters out by then! If you're attending the convention, you should come out and check out our presentation!

End of the Semester Stress

I'm sure I'm not the only one who experiences the end of the semester stress. It's the wrapping up of the semester when all your procrastination finally catches up with you. With unit plans, tech pete projects, teaching episodes, and research papers being due in the next couple weeks it's hard to find time to breathe. Not to mention the upcoming PSAHPERD Convention this weekend. Hopefully I can get all my work done without losing my mind. Good luck to everyone who is in the same boat as me!

Equipment & P.E.

In order to have a solid curriculum does it mean you need to have an abundance of equipment available? I don't think that this is the case. I am currently doing my field experience at Union High School, a very poor district with very limited equipment. My co-op, Mrs. V. has done an excellent job with providing her students with an exceptional education with such little equipment. Through her dedication and imagination she is able to engage students just has much as she would with triple the equipment available. As long as teachers have the urge to teach and enhance student learning, then the equipment list should not matter. Although I am saying that an abundance of equipment is not necessary it is always a nice thing to have, if you are using it properly. However, just because you have more equipment doesn't mean that your physical education class is better compared to those with very limited equipment. It takes more than equipment to make a cohesive educational experience.
